#THROWBACK2025
A thousand memories were made at Bantham on 12th and 13th July 2025. On Saturday, 800 swimmers gathered in Aveton Gifford, zipped up each other’s wetsuits and waded into the river to be Swooshed down to Bantham Beach. On Sunday, 400 swimmers arrived directly to Bantham, strolled over the sand dunes and swooshed up the crystal-clear water of the Aune Estuary, to be Boomeranged back to the start line.
The sun gods had our back – from the moment the first volunteer stepped foot into the field at the start, till the last Boomeranger picked up their hot chocolate at the end.
The fundraising total from the weekend? A phenomenal £245,000 (so far). That’s the equivalent of over 16,000 swimming lessons for children with disabilities all over the UK.
Bantham is slowly becoming the spiritual home of Level Water. We swam here in April with our wonderful brand sponsors. We pop back every now and again for parish council meetings and to drop off gifts for our friends in the area. And this year, it really felt like we were coming home. We’re so lucky to be able to share our favourite river with so many swimmers.

Le Guest Chef
French chef JP Bidart is award winning and well seasoned with over 30 years experience of suave and sophisticated fine dining. He has a sterling reputation for ‘nose to tail’ cooking, inventing menus with less typical ingredients such as rabbit, hare, partridge, deer, mutton, wild boar, squirrel and rose veal. He is a grand accompaniment to our Boathouse Dining Room and it is always a pleasure to be in his charming company.

Bantham Beach offers tranquil surroundings, and an ideal location for mid-morning yoga practice with Donna from Simply Soulful Yoga. Located at Jenkin’s Quay, enjoy stunning views of the coast and the iconic Pink Salmon House. Refresh your body and focus your mind in the great Devon outdoors with the sun on your face and a gentle breeze in your hair. Regular classes take place April through to September, weather permitting!
** Optional sea dip after class (please note this is not a formal part of the session, just a ‘friendly’ option after class).
* * Visit The Gastro Bus (available during the main seasonal periods) or The Sloop Inn for coffee, snacks and light meals and spend some extra time enjoying the natural beauty of the beach, sea, grasslands and dunes before or after your class.

All funds raised go toward the Sailing Club’s Cadets, which aim at encouraging local children from the surrounding villages to learn to sail and the Bantham Sailing Club
