Bantham Surfing Academy

If you would like to learn to surf, Bantham Surfing Academy is based at Bantham beach.

Its highly experienced and British Surfing Association qualified instructors provide professional tuition and coaching for beginners through to advanced levels. It also offers supervised surfing sessions and a Kids Club.

Walking Around Bantham

There are a number of walks around Bantham with two suggested circular walks:

Bantham to Thurlestone: a 3.5 mile circular walk. Find out more on the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Website.

Bantham & the Avon: a 5.1 mile circular walk. Find out more on the South West Coast Path Website.

Bantham Drift

You can enjoy the Bantham drift between Coronation Boathouse and the beach at the top of the estuary – jump in and let yourself be pulled along by the tide, but please check the tide conditions first.

A wonderful experience for young and old alike that’s not to be missed.

Kayaking and Paddleboarding

Whether on the beach or in the estuary, Bantham is perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. A trip up or down the Avon estuary paddling with the tide takes about 90 minutes and is an idyllic experience.

Equipment can be hired from Triocean surf, which can be found two miles from Bantham beach, and Bantham Surfing Academy, which is on Bantham beach itself. For details, visit Tri Ocean Surf and the Bantham Surfing Academy.
